The Golf Courses

Barnbougle Dunes

Barnbougle Dunes.300

Barnbougle dunes 2.300

The Dunes, Barnbougle's original course, is a Links Golf Course unlike any other in Australia, rated #2 in Australia by Australian Golf Magazine. Meandering along Tasmania's dramatic North East coast, it's where breathtaking scenery and thrilling golf truly come together.

The recipient of global accolades, Barnbougle Dunes was designed by U.S Golf visionary Tom Doak and Australian Mike Clayton to channel the traditional links courses of Scotland and Ireland. Golf at the Dunes is a game of strategy, where each shot requires tactical thought and a little creativity can be rewarding.

A blend of fescue and bent grasses, the course flourishes in the coastal environment. Fairways are wide, wider than most golfers will have experienced on traditional courses. The greens are lively; rolling with the natural undulation of the dunes and with the 4th hole boasting the largest bunker in the southern hemisphere, this course is designed to challenge.

Lost Farm

Lost Farm.300Lost Farm2.300

Barnbougle Lost Farm is a 20 hole
Links Golf course on Tasmania's North East Coast. Officially opened on 10 December 2010, Lost Farm sits adjacent
to The Dunes, which opened in December 2004.

Within a week of opening, Lost Farm was rated in the top 10 courses in Australia by Golf Australia Magazine, and also entered U.S. Golf Magazine's Top 100 List. The course is now positioned firmly as one of the icons in Australia's golfing crown, rated #3 in Australia by Australian Golf Magazine (behind Dunes at #2)

Despite their close proximity, Lost Farm is remarkably different to The Dunes. Lost Farm features 20 holes, all of which are playable in any one round, and the course layout tracks along the coast and inland amongst sand dunes that are significantly steeper than those featured at The Dunes. The strategic bunkering and undulating greens combined with wide fairways make for a course that offers an exciting challenge for golfers of all abilities.

Cape Wickham

Cape Wickham 2.300

Once you've experienced Cape Wickham you'll agree it is a spectacular setting with sea views regularly featured. Course architect Mike DeVries has balanced the routing of holes to include a great variety of landforms and views. There are also a number of inland holes which strikes a wonderful balance so it's not all about treading the edge of the clifftops.  The layout is also a test due to its constant directional changes which are a challenge no matter the conditions.
Cape Wickham will become known as a wonderful compliment to its close neighbour, Barnbougle Dunes and Lost Farm. All will join together to rival the best of all golf experiences in the world. Cape Wickham is officially due to open in November 2015, with preview rounds available between March and June.
