Then add the beautiful Millbrook course and Arrowtown Golf Club and the golfing treats were there to enjoy along with the wonderful week of weather.

Lunch at Amisfield Winery for the 'Trust the Chef' menu was a real highlight and a great chance for the group to realx and enjoy themselves. The restaurants in Queenstown are also a real feature of the trip with the atmosphere around the town buzzing at this time of year.

Hosted by Green Acres Golf Professional, Andrew Kloprogge, the girls were treated to five days of fun, with some enjoying the obligatory spa treatments of course!

Queenstown, New Zealand - October 2012

2012 group photo

In 2012 we ventured to Queenstown, New Zealand's Adventure Capital! Queenstown thrives largely on tourism so in addition to the golf there are plenty of restaurants and activities to enjoy.

Travelling in October meant the weather was cool and it even snowed on our rest day ensuring our lunch at Amisfield winery was nice and cosy. Staying at one hotel and with all golf courses within 25 minutes means this trip was very enjoyable. Playing some spectacular golf courses is a great experience but what makes it even more enjoyable are the friendships and interaction within the group.

Courses played were Jack's Point (2), The Hills, Millbrook and Arrowtown GC. Our hotel was the Novotel which is situated right on the heart of Queenstown.

US Masters - 2011

Group at US Masters

The US Masters is the most amazing event. We all know the Masters well but to experience it first hand is another thing. Viewing is easy with the limited crowd size and significant elevation changes and of course you want to walk to all of the famous spots on the course and learn the layout first hand so you can fully appreciate what as gone before.

This was the year when the Aussies were pressing for vistory. Adam Scott, Jason Day and Geoff Ogilvy were all in the mix right down to the wire but it was Charl Schwartzel who birdied the last four holes to win, leaving the Aussies to once again lament what might have been.

Our trip included 13 nights accommodation and 7 rounds of golf, with three days at the Masters including Wednesday, the practice day and Par 3 event, Thursday and Friday. We played Heron Point, Harbour Town and Kiawah Island prior to the Masters and then travelled to Pinehurst to play #4, #7, #8 before playing the famed Pinehurst #2.

From there we ventured into Scotland to the scene of last year's Open, Turnberry, playing both the Ailsa and Kintyre courses before heading up the road and playing Royal Troon. We then headed further north where Dundee was our base for games at Carnoustie, Kingsbarns and Gleneagles before enjoying the final two days of The Open.

British Open - 2009

2009 group at Birkdale

In 2009 a small group of us took off to England and Scotland for 12 days of golf and fun.

Our tour began in Southport with rounds at Royal Liverpool, Royal Birkdale and Royal Lytham and St Anne' before heading up into Scotland, staying at Cameron House,
a wonderful 5 star hotel on the shores of Loch Lomond. Another round at Prestwick preceded attending the final two rounds at The Open, played at Turnberry. What a wonderful experience witnessing Tom Watson almost take out the title, only to be beaten by Stewart Cink in a playoff.

After The Open we headed up to St Andrews to play at Carnoustie, St Andrews Jubilee and of course, St Andrews Old Course. This truly is the home of golf. What an experience! For those who are yet to see and play the Old Course and surrounds you are missing something very special.
